Behind every person’s success story, you will find that they had to give something up; they had to make SACRIFICES.

Sometimes we may be conditioned to believe that following a certain path will guarantee results. If we just go through the motions, disregarding the need for a plan and action, then we fall into the same cycle as the deer in Nara Park.

I read that it would take approximately 6 hours to get to the Sahara Desert from Casablanca. I was way off.

While in Vietnam, my friends and I took a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi to visit Ha Long Bay. On our way back to Ho Chi Minh City, we experienced a hiccup that almost ruined the entire trip.

Whether it was tutoring students at a local school, cleaning the streets of Southside Chicago, or spending time with children at an orphanage in Oaxaca, Mexico and George Town, Malaysia, I’ve always walked away realizing that although I gave of myself, I too learned a lesson or met someone who made an impact on my life.

...as global citizens, we are all on the same team and should be accountable for one another. We all want the same thing: a happy, healthy and successful life with family and friends to share it with. Therefore, it is our responsibility to lift one another as we climb this mountain called LIFE.

Remember that your expenses should never EVER be greater than your income. Instead of taking a week-long trip to Paris, try taking a less expensive trip locally - at least until you have enough funds to pay for a more extravagant one.

What we found to be most interesting about David was his ability to connect his students to students at Likan-Antay C-30 High School in Chile through STEM. The partnership between the two classrooms focuses on STEM “maker projects” and astronomy outreach.

Summer is 14 days away. If your students and/or children are looking for something to do, I recommend that they try learning a language. You never know, they might end up surprising you come Fall!
